FNGI (Fungi) is a collective group founded in the midst of 2020, in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana. The group takes a significant influence in their writing from the classic hits of Alternative RnB, Alternative Rock, Reggae, and Latin music. FNGI has a fresh take on a sound that focuses on a balance between modern-contemporary music and that nostalgic feeling we all love from the ’70s to the early 2000s. A few of their idols include Jimmy Hendrix, Thundercat, Pharrell, Peter Tosh, Led Zeppelin, Anderson.Paak, and Frank Ocean. Current greats and upcoming artists have graciously praised FNGI, here are a couple of quotes :

From recording and performing artist David Pulphus who has recorded multiple times with artists such as Terrance Blanchard, Delfeayo Marsalis, Kermit Ruffins, and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, after watching FNGI play a sold-out show at Cafe Istanbul he said, “You guys are killin’… I have really high hopes for you guys, but you guys should have higher hopes for yourselves…”,

From Big Chief Donald Harrison, considered to be a master of Jazz, Hip Hop, and Soul, mentor and uncle of 6x grammy nominated and 2x Edison award-winning artist Christian Scott and mentor to award-winning artist The Notorious B.I.G., speaks of his experience sharing the stage with FNGI’s own Bass player at the infamous Snug Harbor, “I love your sound… You have a great sound, You will be a great Bass player someday!…”
